Newry Junior Chamber has launched its annual Secret Santa Appeal.
Now in its 10th year, the appeal just gets stronger and stronger, helping a record number of children last year from all over Newry & Mourne.
Christmas Trees have been placed in The Buttercrane Shopping Centre (outside Louis Boyd) and The Quays Shopping Centre (outside TopMan)
The trees are decorated with gift cards with the first name and age of hundreds of local children who are in need of ‘Secret Santas’ this Christmas. Shoppers are invited to choose a card and buy a gift for the child, returning it to the collection points.
Any charities who feel they could benefit from this years appeal please contact: Stephen O’ Hare – email@example.com, or Paddy Magee – firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 028 302 61272.
Newry Junior Chamber charity co-ordinator Paddy Magee explains: “We work closely with a number of local charities and community organisations to identify children of all ages for whom Christmas may not be that special due to a number of reasons. The response to our last nine Secret Santa Appeals has been truly amazing and we’re hopeful that the people of Newry and the surrounding area will once again demonstrate their generosity and kind-heartedness, especially this year when the demand is even greater”.
Gifts should be returned to the location where you took the card from and the final date to donate your gifts is Tuesday 23rd December. Newry Junior Chamber elves will liaise with the local charities in ensuring all gifts are collected and distributed in time to give children a special gift at Christmas.
Newry Junior Chamber would like to thank Buttercrane Shopping Centre, The Quays Shopping Centre, Louis Boyd’s and Belleek Living for their support in this appeal.
