As part of this programme Ideation Camps are being held to help participants experience and develop skills that can increase the relevance, scale and impact of their business ideas. The camp will follow the thought process which successful ideators, innovators and entrepreneurs have used around the world. Participants will be given the opportunity to work together on real life challenges and problems through case studies, which will illustrate a situation which could be improved through business venture and social innovation solution. All together this will help to develop the business idea and innovation skills of the participant. Young people are encouraged to register for this FREE event at www.brightideani.com
Martin Patterson, the Economic Development Officer of Newry and Mourne District Council commented, “The Bright Idea programme gives young people aged 18-29 years a fantastic opportunity to become young entrepreneurs and will help to equip young people with the skills to improve their business idea. The programme involves ideation camps, which are designed to bring participants through a process of idea generation. The quality of people is more important than the quality of the idea. The initial session is followed up with expert mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs for participants that move to the second phase of the programme. As such, the time input is relatively small, so it will suit young people currently in education or full time employment. Anyone interested in becoming their own boss should visit www.brightideani.com "
Mark Bleakney, Invest NI’s Southern Regional Manager, added “The Bright Idea programme will equip young people with the knowledge and expert support needed to convert their business idea into a successful viable business. The support package on offer is excellent and includes ideation workshops, financial planning, export advice, sales and marketing strategy. I would encourage young entrepreneurs in the area to get involved.”
