Business students at Southern Regional College have moved out of the classroom and into industry to help solve problems faced by local businesses. This is being achieved through Project Based Learning where the learners are performing real tasks to help drive customers into retail premises and town centres. Students have already proved successful at helping local retailers through the High Street vs iStreet campaign which has seen a sense of joy and social occasion brought to the shopping experience, as well as improving brand awareness and helping to explore new ways in which customers shop. Having successfully completed a year under the Project Based Learning Initiative, SRC is now looking to recruit new local businesses for both year 1 and year 2 that can make use of the skills and knowledge that Business students can provide.
Year 1 Project Based Learning – Retail stores
Would your retail business like to get involved in our High Street vs the iStreet Campaign where students will be asked to engage in 3 areas of your business?
With digital marketing, students will work with the business to find new ways to promote a product or the store itself through various marketing and social media platforms.
With visual merchandising, they will produce a display around a theme that will be showcased in the digital marketing campaign and through the college.
And finally your student team will host an event designed around a theme that will bring in new customers and consolidate your existing customer relationship.
Year 2 Project Based Learning – Creative Promotion for any aspect of your Business
SRC Business students want to help you promote your business
The 2nd year Level 3 Business students of Southern Regional College have already worked with industry using a range of marketing and presentation tools to help drive shoppers back to the High Street. They now wish to take these skills further and work more closely with a more diverse range of businesses to help promote a product or service.
Their project will focus on working for a business to achieve a promotional objective for that organization that will help increase awareness of the product, service or event and ultimately improve sales and participation.
